1. Know that Happiness is an Inside Job. No outside person, thing, position, or place can make you truly happy. You are the only person who can make you happy.
2. Happiness is a choice. Seriously. Every morning decide to be happy. No matter your outside circumstances. We all know stories of people who seem to be in extremely difficult circumstances who are happy. We also know people who seem to have it all who are not happy. The difference is in attitude.
3. Practise Gratitude. This is perhaps the most powerful happiness generator. Every day, every moment that you remember, give thanks for all that you have. Start with Life. And then notice Every. Single. Thing. that makes your life good. If you do this instead of focusing on what you don’t have you’ll be well on your way to happiness.
4. You are Body/ Mind/ Spirit. Nurture all these parts of you. Strive for a life of balance.
5. Accept and let go. Start with yourself. If there is anything in your life that you don’t like, change the things that are in your power to change. Accept the things that you cannot change. Or walk away.
6. Surround yourself with positive supportive people.
7. The Present is where life happens. The past lies in your memory. The future is anticipation. So make all your present moments count towards your real happiness.
8. Laugh. Laugh often. Laugh out loud. Laugh until your stomach hurts.
9. Do things that make your heart sing. Often.
10. Find your purpose. Then go out and live your life full out fulfilling this purpose.
Young leaders won t grow by simply doing busy-work. The way they ll learn to lead people and teams to accomplish meaningful things is to make them responsible for doing just that.
I agree totally Jeremy!
